Company and industry dynamics
In
July 2025, ZMEV, which focuses on "China's new energy industry chain
going global as a whole", officially launched commercial operation of
new energy ride hailing services in the capital of Ivory Coast, Abidjan,
through its wholly-owned subsidiary ZERO EMISION TRANSPORT (ZET). This
is another strategic breakthrough for ZMEV in the African market,
following the commissioning of the SKD factory in Kenya and the
large-scale operation of ride hailing services. It marks the first
extension of its "vehicle station network" closed-loop ecological model
from East Africa to West Africa, setting a new benchmark for China's new
energy technology to empower Africa's green transformation.
Deeply cultivate the potential market in West Africa and build a compliant travel ecosystem
As an economic growth engine in West Africa, Cote d'Ivoire has accelerated the transformation of its transportation and energy structure in recent years. The local government has previously completed the standardization and rectification of the ride hailing industry, retaining only the three compliant platforms of Yango, Heetch, and Uber. ZET has accurately seized policy opportunities and established deep cooperation with the leading market share Yango platform. The first batch of new energy vehicles launched have seamlessly integrated into its operational network, providing local users with low-carbon and efficient travel options.
China's intelligent manufacturing empowers the four in one model to land in West Africa
Based on the R&D and supply chain advantages of ZMEV China headquarters (Changsha, Hunan), ZET will continue the successful "four in one" model validated in Kenya:
Vehicle trade and localized manufacturing: Combining China's mature new energy vehicle industry chain with localized production in Africa to reduce operating costs;
Capacity operation: Optimize vehicle scheduling through a professional team to improve service efficiency;
Energy supply: supporting the construction of charging infrastructure and building a green energy network.
This
model not only injects new momentum into the transformation of
transportation and energy in Cote d'Ivoire, but also helps upgrade the
African industrial chain through technology transfer and localized
employment.
From East Africa to West Africa, implement the "the Belt and Road" green commitment
The implementation of the Ivory Coast project is a crucial step in ZMEV's' Global New Energy Ecological Builder 'strategy. ”The group leader stated, "We take Chinese new energy technology as the core and combine it with the characteristics of the African market to promote green travel from single product output to full industry chain cooperation. In the future, ZET will continue to deepen its layout in West Africa and help more countries achieve carbon neutrality goals. ”
This cooperation is also seen as a new model for China Africa new energy cooperation. Through the three-dimensional path of "government enterprise linkage+localized operation+technological empowerment", ZMEV is demonstrating with practical actions that the globalization journey of Chinese enterprises is not only the expansion of their business map, but also the international transmission of sustainable development concepts.
